After testing positive for the deadly virus, the woman’s husband is undergoing treatment in the Mahendra Mohan Choudhury Hospital (MMCH) in Guwahati.
The man also attended a religious event at the Athgaon Kabarsthan Masjid in Guwahati on March 11 along with another COVID19 positive patient from Dhubri.
When two of the persons attending the event at Athgaon Kabarsthan Masjid tested positive, the Dhubri district authorities placed at least 19 people, who were present at the event, under mass quarantine in the district.
“All these members of Tablighi Jamaat went to Athgaon Kabarsthan Masjid on March 11, stayed together with both the Covid-19 positive cases of Dhubri district, identified as Jalal Uddin of Chapar and Rahim Uddin of Hakma and returned back to Dhubri on March 12,” the Markaz leaders in Dhubri had said recently.
MMCH has already been turned into an exclusive COVID19 facility.
