Assam registered 13 more COVID19 positive cases on Tuesday taking the state’s total count to 154.
Confirming the news, Assam health minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Tuesday evening said the new cases have been detected in the quarantine centre at Sarusajai Stadium in Guwahati.

“Alert – 13 new #COVID + cases detected from Sarusajai Quarantine Centre. Now the total patient count goes to 154,” health minister tweeted at 7.45 pm on Tuesday.
Keeping in view of the increase in COVID19 positive cases in the state, health minister Sarma has requested the people to stay home and follow social distancing and hygiene norms.
“In view of the rising number I earnestly request you to #StayAtHome and follow #SocialDistancing & hygiene norms,” said Sarma.

With the new cases, the number of active COVID19 cases in Assam increased to 107.
Earlier, a total of 41 COVID19 patients were discharged from various hospitals across Assam after their recovery.
The deadly disease has claimed the lives of 4 persons in Assam while 2 cases migrated from the state.
India has so far recorded a total of 1,03,287 COVID19 positive cases with 3,179 deaths.
While 40,457 COVID19 patients were discharged from various hospitals across the country after their recovery, India currently has 59,645 active cases.
