Assam registered 13 new COVID19 positive cases on Wednesday taking the state’s total to 170.
Confirming the news, Assam health minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Wednesday evening said the infected patients are from Hojai, Sonitpur, Kamrup Metro, Kamrup Rural, and Nagaon districts.

He said while 8 cases have been detected in Hojai district, 2 cases have been reported from Sonitpur district.
The three other COVID19 positive cases are from Kamrup Metro, Kamrup Rural, and Nagaon districts.
“Alert ~ 13 new cases of #COVID19 + confirmed. Break-up ~ 8 from Hojai; 2 from Sonitpur; 1 each from Kamrup Metro, Kamrup and Nagaon,” tweeted health minister Sarma.

With the new cases registered in Assam, the number of active COVID19 cases in the state increased to 115.
The deadly disease has so far claimed the lives of 4 persons in Assam while 3 cases migrated from the state.
“Total cases 170. Recovered 48. Active cases 115. Deaths 04. Migrated 03,” Sarma added.
