The total COVID-19 death in Assam rose to five in Assam after sources close to the government informed that another person died of the virus in the state on Monday.
“Arun Kakati, 54, who had tested positive for COVID-19 a few days back, died of the infection,” sources close to the health department informed Northeast Now.

“He had recently returned from Chennai and was placed under home quarantine and he was suffering from high fever,” sources added.
Kakati was a resident of Diphu and he died on Sunday night while taken to Diphu Medical College and Hospital after he complained of complications.
Kakati was recently released from the 14-day institutional quarantine and was put under home quarantine.
