The CRPF on Monday recorded another COVID-19 death, taking the total number of fatalities in the force due to the novel coronavirus to four.
The Central Reserve Police Force (CRP) jawan, who succumbed to COVID-19, was posted in Kashmir.

“The deceased jawan, who was a constable, was working as a nursing assistant in the 90th battalion in Anantnag,” officials informed.
“He died at the Sher-I-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences in Srinagar on Sunday night,” officials added..
The officials further added that the jawan tested positive for COVID-19 on June 5.

“The deceased jawan was admitted to the hospital with an acute respiratory problem,” the officials further added.
The deceased jawan hailed from Moradabad in Uttar Pradesh and he had joined the CRPF in 1996.
With this, the total number of deaths in the force due to COVID-19 rose four.
Moreover, this is the 12th death due to COVID-19 among the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs), or the paramilitary forces.
