With the announcement of poll dates for the Lok Sabha elections, the Udalguri district administration has sprung into action.
In a press communique, the district election officer urged all the political parties to use only eco- friendly campaign materials during the elections.

The statement of the Udalguri district election officer requested the political parties to take adequate measures as to not use plastic in campaign materials (posters, banners etc) during the elections in the interest of human health and environment.
Meanwhile, the district administration has expedited the mass awareness programme of newly introduced EVM VVPAT through five awareness teams and separate awareness has been going on for Systematic Voters Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP), formation of Electoral Literacy Club (ELC) in the schools among the future voters etc.
It is pertinent to mention here that the poll date for 8 No Mangaldai LS constituency is scheduled to be held in the second phase on April 18 next just after the Rongali Bihu under which the three legislative segments of Udalguri district administration – Panery, Udalguri and Mazbat fall.
