Assam police nabs three ULFA-I cadres

Tezpur: In a significant operation, police in Tezpur town of Assam have arrested three members of the banned militant outfit United Liberation Front of Asom-Independent (ULFA-I) on extortion charges.

The arrested individuals have been identified as Sanjeev Barua, alias Dadu; his wife Bedang Jungchila, alias Hazong; and Bhavesh Kalita, alias Kenai, all residents of Tezpur in Assam.

According to reports, the trio had been embezzling funds from an organization in Mission Chariali are in Tezpur town of Assam.

Reports claim that the Assam police apprehended the ULFA-I members while they were attempting to collect extortion money from a local business establishment.

The police are continuing their investigation to uncover further details about the group’s activities and potential accomplices.
