Taking note of its hate-mongering posts, Guwahati police has written to Facebook and urged it to take down a page that goes by the name ‘Assamese Online’.
The police have also lodged a case against the said page.

Addressing the media in Guwahati on Thursday, Guwahati Police Commissioner Deepak Kumar said, “Assamese Online is a public page and we have taken into account various hate-mongering posts of the page.”
“Taking a serious note of it, we have urged the Facebook to take down the page immediately and share details about the persons behind the page,” he added.
“We are in constant touch with the Nodal Officer of Facebook India in this regard,” Kumar further said.

Kumar further informed they are constantly monitoring several other pages that are spreading hate-mongering posts.
