Guwahati: At least thirteen people, including women, were arrested in Nagaon, Assam by the police for the alleged destruction of a temporary forest camp in Bura Chapori Wildlife Sanctuary.
The arrests come in response to a recent incident in Juria, Nagaon, where hundreds of people reportedly from evicted families vandalized a forest department camp.

The Superintendent of Police of Nagaon district, along with paramilitary forces, carried out the operation.
Those arrested have been said to be residents of Sialichapri in Sonitpur.

The detainees were handed over to Tezpur Police for further legal action.
A search operation is underway in Juria for the remaining individuals suspected to be involved in the vandalism.
