Assam Police on Wednesday alleged that Rajya Sabha MP from Mizoram, K Vanlalvena’s media interview is “indicative of his active role in the conspiracy”.
Stating this in a tweet on Wednesday, Assam’s Special DGP, GP Singh said an Assam Police including officers of the CID was “leaving for Delhi to take lawful action relating to the conspiracy behind the incident in light of media interview of Rajya Sabha MP Sri K Vanlalvena indicative of his active role in conspiracy.”

The IPS officer also informed that a case was registered on Tuesday at Dholai PS (Case No 236/21) under sections 120(B),447,336,379,333,307,302 IPC read with Section 25 (1-A) of Arms Act and Section 3 of Prevention of Damage to Public property Act 1984 against the killing of Assam Police personnel on July 26.
The top police official also informed that the Assam Police has announced a reward of Rs 5 lakh for those who can provide information leading to the arrest of each of the individuals involved in the barbaric killing of the Assam Police personnel on July 26 at the Assam-Mizoram border.

A total of 6 Assam Police personnel and a civilian were killed in the attack by Mizoram Police and goons from the neighbouring state on Monday.

The incident took place at Inner Line Reserve Forest area of Cachar district in Assam along the National Highway 306, around 1.7 km southwards from Lailapur police post.
In a press statement, the Assam Police said: “Assam Police has already prepared a picture gallery, which is being further updated, of Mizoram Police personnel and civilian miscreants who fired at Assam Police. They would be brought to law.”
