in Udalguri on Wednesday.

In his speech, Hazarika said that the Bhergaon SDO(C) office, which was established way back in 2004, lacked the required infrastructure and the sub-treasury office was a long pending demand.
The event, presided over by Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) Deputy Speaker Nerswn Boro, was addressed by a host of speakers including Kalaigaon MLA Maheswar Baro, Panery MLA Kamali Basumatari among others.
The speakers said that setting up of the sub-treasury office would benefit the pensioners and Government servants, in Bhergaon sub-division.
In his speech, Nerswn Boro acknowledged the role of both the MLAs for their efforts for the welfare of the
area and also thanked Minister Daimari for bringing welfare projects to the sub-division.
In his speech, State Cabinet Minister Daimari stated that the sub-treasury office would ease the problems of the Government officials who earlier had to visit Udalguri or Kokrajhar in absence of such an office at Bhergaon.
“The sub-treasury will start functioning from December 1 next,” informed Daimari.
Kalaigaon MLA Maheswar Baro expressed his astonishment to the fact that the Bhergaon Polytechnic, which was about to function from this year, the construction work is yet to be completed by the contractor concerned.
He also reiterated the need of a Circuit House in Bhergaon and demanded transfer of the Bhergaon SDPO office to Bhergaon, which is currently functioning from Tangla PWD Inspection Bungalow.
The meeting was also attended by BTC Speaker, Tridip Daimari; BTC EMs Lmshrao Daimari, Jagadish Sarkar; BTC MCLA Suresh Tanti, Bhergaon SDPO Barun Purkayastha among others.
