Two wheels of a parcel-carrying train got derailed at the Jorhat Town station during shunting on Wednesday.
As a result, the train movement at the Jorhat town station was affected temporarily.

However, there was no injury and casualty caused due to the incident, the chief public relations officer of NF Railway, Subhanan Chanda said in a statement.
As a consequence of the derailment, 02067 Guwahati-Jorhat Town Janshatabdi special was short-terminated at Mariani Jn station on Wednesday.
Accordingly, 02068 Jorhat Town-Guwahati Janshatabdi special also originated from the Mariani Jn station instead of Jorhat Town.

“Inconvenience caused to passengers is regretted,” the NFR CPRO stated.
Immediately after the incident, men and machinery were rushed to the spot for early restoration, the NF Railway official informed.
“Now it is being informed that the obstruction for train movement at the Jorhat Town station has been put right at about 3-05 pm today,” CPRO Chanda said.
“Now the station is again fit for normal train movement,” he added.
