One more person in Assam has been arrested for pro-Taliban posts in the social media.
The person was arrested for supporting Taliban’s takeover of Afghanistan in Facebook.

The arrested person reportedly works at a tyre shop in Jorabat area near Guwahati.
With this, the total number of people arrested in Assam for allegedly supporting Taliban has risen to 16.

Among those arrested so far include an Assam Police constable, a senior leader of the state unit of Jamiat Ulema-e-Hind, a medical student and a journalist.
Earlier, fifteen persons were arrested from different districts of Assam on August 20 and 21 for allegedly supporting Taliban in the social media.
The arrested persons have been booked under sections of UAPA, IT Act and CrPC.
