The Kamrup Metro district administration has declared November 5, 2021 as a local holiday in the district on the occasion of the Diwali festival.
Kamrup Metro deputy commissioner Biswajit Pegu on Wednesday issued an order in this regard.

The order said: “In exercise of delegation of power conferred by the Government notification no. GAG(A) 81/2016/637 dated 18/12/2020 and as per approval of General Administration Department vide letter no. GAG(A) 81/2016/766 dt. 03/11/2021, Local Holiday is hereby declared on 5th November, 2021 within the jurisdiction of Kamrup Metropolitan District on account of Diwall Festival.”

According to the order, all the central, state government, semi-government offices, revenue courts, educational and financial institutions within the Kamrup Metro district of Assam will remain closed on November 5, 2021.

“All Central / State Government Offices, Semi Government Offices, Revenue Courts, Educational & financial Institutions within the District will remain closed on 5th November, 2021,” the order said.

“This declaration is made under Section-25 of N.I. Act, 1881 (XXIV of 1881) read with the Government of India, Ministry of Home Affairs Notification No. 20/25/Pub-I dated 08/06/1957,” the order said.
The Kamrup Metro deputy commissioner in the order said all the guidelines/protocols relating to COV1D19 should be strictly followed during the celebration of the Diwali festival in the district.
