Union minister of state for home Nishit Pramanik inaugurated the Kalibari Durga Puja in Assam’s Dhubri town on the auspicious occasion of Mahashtami on Monday evening.
Union minister Pramanik also unveiled the idol of Goddess Durga at the premises of Dhubri Kalibari Temple amid the beating of drums and blowing of conch shells.

Minister Pramanik, accompanied by MP from West Bengal’s Jalpaiguri Jayanta Roy and Toofanganj legislator Malati Rabha, arrived at Dhubri Kalibari Temple on Monday evening.

The union minister returned back to Coochbehar after inaugurating the Durga Puja pandal.

“I am so happy to attend the historic Dhubri Kalibari Durga Puja pandal and feel blessed by Goddess Durga,” said Union minister Pramanik.
He expressed gratitude and thanks to the members of the Durga Puja organizing committee of Dhubri Kalibari for organising the puja in a traditional and peaceful manner.
During their Dhubri visit, Union minister Pramanik along with other legislators visited the Sabuj Sangha Puja pandal located at the historic Raja Prabhat Chandra Barua playground at Ward No 1 in Dhubri town.
