Guwahati: At least nine alleged Bangladeshi nationals were apprehended by the police on the Indo-Bangla border in Karimganj, Assam on Tuesday.

According to reports, the suspected persons had crossed the international border with no valid documents with the help of touts on both sides.

The individuals who crossed the international border illegally were identified as Md Mamun, Abbu Naim, Rashed Islam, Morad Ali Mandal, Md Asraful Haque, Md Basir Hawladar, Md Robiul Hawladar, Md Mahabat Ali, and Md Mohim Hossain.

The police and BSF said they are also monitoring to trace for other persons who may have crossed the border with these nine.
