Dibrugarh MLA Prasanta Phukan on Sunday inaugurated a drinking water project, Amrit Dhara, at Municipality field here.

The drinking water project was funded by Jyoti Lalita Kanoi Foundation, in association with Marwari Yuva Manch, Pragati Sakha, Dibrugarh.

Speaking after the inauguration, Phukan said that it is a noble initiative taken by the Jyoti Lalita Kanoi foundation and the Marwari Yuva Manch, Pragati Sakha, Dibrugarh, to installed RO-filtered drinking water facilities in Dibrugarh which will provide safe clean water to the people.

“Safe drinking water is a fundamental necessity for everyone and the installation of the facility on the campus will fulfill the need of safe drinking water and the students can avail of it 24 hours.” Dibrugarh MLA said.

Foundation chairman Jyoti Prasad Kanoi said that their main objective is to provide safe and clean drinking water through this project in Dibrugarh.

“Under the banner of Jyoti Lalita Kanoi foundation we have installed five RO filtered drinking water facilities in Dibrugarh and very soon another project will be inaugurated at Khonikor. With the support from Marwari Yuva Manch, Pragati Sakha, Dibrugarh we have installed this project which will provide free drinking water facilities for the students of the nearby schools,”.

Kanoi added that the main objective of the foundation is to contribute towards the development of student facilities and infrastructure to support the growth of education in Assam, more particularly in Dibrugarh.

Lalita Kanoi, Nita Todi and Punit Bagaria were present among them.
