GUWAHATI: The police in Guwahati city of Assam apprehended a man from Nagaland for possession of illegal arms.
The man from Nagaland was arrested by a team of officials from the Noonmati police station in Guwahati city of Assam.
The arrested individual has been identified as Rajesh Rai, also known as John, a resident of Dimapur in Nagaland.
The arrest was made late on Thursday (May 02) night at a rented residence in the Yuva Nagar area of Guwahati in Assam.

Upon conducting a search, the police team discovered a factory-made .22 pistol, along with a magazine and 21 live rounds of ammunition in Rai’s possession.
Rai was arrested immediately and legal proceedings have been set in motion against him.
