With a view to discuss at length about Capacity Building of the Common Services Centres (CSCs) under the three LACs of Sivasagar Election District, a meeting was held on Wednesday.
The meeting held at the Sukafa Conference Hall of the Office of the Deputy Commissioner, Sivasagar was chaired by Sivasagar deputy commissioner Dr S Lakshmanan.
During his speech, the deputy commissioner requested all CSCs to abide by the law of the land with respect to data-safety and cyber-crime issues.
During the meeting, election officer of Sivasagar, Pankaj Borah elaborately discussed the role and responsibilities of the CSCs in Electors Verification Programme (EVP), which is an ambitious programme of the Election Commission of India (ECI) and was launched on September 1, 2019.
It may be noted that through the Electoral Verification Programme, an elector can verify the correctness of his/her electoral details through a number of channels like NVSP Portal, ‘Voter-Helpline’ mobile app, Common Service Centres and Voter facilitation centres.
A Power Point Presentation was also shown to elaborate the technical aspects of EVP to the CSCs.
The election officer also urged upon all CSCs to actively participate in EVP and contribute to the preparation of a ‘Zero Error’ Electoral Roll in the district.
Among others, superintendent of police Amitava Sinha; district managers of CSC-SPV e-Gogernance, Sivasagar Mofijuddin Ahmed and Rimpy Bora and about 40 CSC VLEs from across the Sivasagar Election District were also present in the meeting.
