A married woman in Assam’s Dhubri district allegedly eloped with her boyfriend and her husband has filed a case with police against four persons on charges of kidnapping his wife.

The 38-year-old husband, Manteshwar Roy of Powerchara village under Agomani police station in Dhubri district has lodged an FIR at Agomoni police station.

In his FIR, Roy alleged that his wife, Monika Bala Roy (24) fled away along with their two-year-old son.

He alleged that she also took away Rs 35,000 in cash and other valuable ornaments and goods.

The husband of the woman has been waiting for his wife and two-year-old son since Monday.

Briefing the media about the incident, the husband said he suspected that his wife had been kidnapped by four persons.

He has lodged an FIR against four persons namely Sujit alias Laddu, Hemanta Roy, Ved Roy and Mantosh Roy alleging their involvement in the “kidnapping”.

Meanwhile, the husband has urged his wife to come back home at the earliest.

Police have lodged the case and further investigation is underway.
