Guwahati: A youth who was missing for the past few days was found dead in Chhaygaon in Kamrup about 38 kilometres from Guwahati, Assam on Sunday evening.
The body was found in a semi-decomposed state near the roadside.

Police said that the deceased was identified as Hemanta Kalita about 35 years of age.
His parents had reported him missing on May 9 last week.

The mobile phone used by Hemanta was also switched off for the past few days.
While it was not known what exactly happened, it has been suspected that he was murdered.
The police have begun an investigation.
