Guwahati: A massive consignment of Indian-made foreign liquor was seized in Sikaridanga along the Assam-Arunachal Pradesh border in the Udalguri district on Sunday.

The consignment was seized from a truck coming from the Tenga Valley in Arunachal Pradesh and was headed towards Guwahati, Assam.

Acting on a tip-off, a police team intercepted a truck bearing registration number AS01EC6245.

On checking the truck, the police found 375 cases of IMFL. 

The IMFL was manufactured in Arunachal Pradesh and was made to be sold there only.

The police detained the vehicle driver identified as Mafidul Islam on suspicion of a smuggling attack.

“We have seized the vehicle and the consignment and the driver is being interrogated “ said a police official of Lalpani Outpost.

Investigation regarding the consignment is being carried out.
