A youth has been hacked to death by his father recently at Awnajuli village under Orang police station in Assam’s Udalguri district.
According to reports, the victim, identified as Sujan Basumatari, succumbed to his injuries on head and body after his father, Tapan Basumatari, attacked him brutally.
Tapan Basumatari, who was in an inebriated condition, was engaged in an argument with his wife when his elder son, Sujan Basumatari, interrupted and an argument erupted between the duo.
The father then allegedly brought a dao and hacked his son to death and the whole incident took place in front of his (Tapan Basumatari) wife and younger son.
“My husband often returns home in an inebriated condition and engages in verbal duel. On Thursday night also when my son interrupted in such a verbal duel, an argument ensued. He suddenly hacked our eldest son who was married just three weeks back,” the victim’s mother stated.
The victim was rushed to the nearest hospital but declared brought dead.
Meanwhile, the accused has been evading arrest.
