Maj Gen Vij reviewed the ongoing training and selection process of the NCC North Eastern Region team for the upcoming Inter Directorate Sports Shooting Championship

Guwahati: Additional Director General (ADG), NCC North Eastern Region (NER), Major General Anurag Vij on Tuesday visited the CATC-14-cum-Inter Directorate Sports Shooting Championship (IDSSC) Practice Camp being conducted by 7 Assam Battalion NCC at the Khalipara Shooting Range in Guwahati.

During the visit, Maj Gen Vij reviewed the ongoing training and selection process of the NCC North Eastern Region team for the upcoming Inter Directorate Sports Shooting Championship. He was briefed on the firing schedule, training modules and overall arrangements at the camp.

The ADG also inspected the firing range and reviewed the facilities being used for training. He later interacted with the cadets and encouraged them to maintain discipline, dedication and commitment in their preparations.

The NCC is currently conducting a 40-day training camp at Girijananda Chowdhury University in Guwahati, where more than 400 cadets from across the Northeastern states are undergoing specialised training and participating in the selection process for national-level shooting competitions.

During the interaction, Maj Gen Vij presented watches to the cadets and wished them success in the upcoming competitions.

The visit formed part of the NCC’s efforts to monitor training standards and preparations ahead of national shooting events.
