A day-long ‘Legal Services Camp’ will be organized at Debargaon Higher Secondary School ground in Kokrajhar on on Sunday (26 August) to facilitate the target groups aware of the benefits available under various schemes introduced by government.
Organized by the Assam State Legal Services Authority in association with District Legal Services Authority, Kokrajhar, Justice AK Goswami Executive chairman Assam State Legal Services Authority, Justice A Bujorbarua Judge Gauhati High Court and Chief of BTC Hagrama Mohilary and other officials will attend the legal service camp.

Briefing mediapersons at Kokrajhar Circuit House on Friday, Ratnadeep Bhatacharjee, Secretary Kokrajhar District Legal Services Authority said the camp is being organized to bring different departments of the government at one spot to facilitate government schemes for the poor. He said many people are deprived of their legal rights because of the lack of knowledge about legal services. The camp aims to felicitate and help the people to get justice and the benefits of the government facilities.
Gitali Rabha, Deputy Secretary Assam State Legal Services Authority said the Legal Services Camp is the fifth of its kind in the state. Similar camps were organized previously in Silchar, Dibrugarh, Dhemaji and Bongaigaon.
There will be free transport for the people from different parts of the district that would help bring the poor and needy to the camp.
