The party also asked state health minister, Himanta Biswa Sharma about the current process of Covid-19 testing of inbound passengers from the airport.

In Sarusajai, people have to pay about rupees 2000 for immediate Covid-19 test results. If they don’t pay, they are directed to be on home quarantine for four to five days, said the statement.

The party questioned as to why the government could not provide testing for free when crores of taxpayers’ money were being collected through various funds.

The LDP also said there should be the same level of the stringent system of testing of inbound passengers in all kinds of transportation.

The party also demanded the state government make early arrangements for the free distribution of Covid-19 vaccines in the state.
