The District Health Society (RNTCP) of Kokrajhar district observed World TB Day in Gossaigaon of Assam on Sunday.
A rally was taken out from RNB Civil Hospital of Gossaigaon at 10:15 am which was flaged off by Dr Sujit Kr Das, Superintendent of RNB Civil Hospital, Gossaigaon. Hundreds of ASHA supervisors and ASHA workers and RNTCP Staff along with local people from Gossaigaon participated in the rally.

Later, a meeting was held at the Habrubil Community Hall under the presidentship of Dr Kaushik Das, District TB Officer, Kokrajhar. Father Thomas D’Silva of St Anthony’s High School, Gossaigaon, Captain Dr Suresh Kumar, doctor at the Patharghat Army Camp, Kokrajhar, Lieutenant Anil Kumar Lanka of Gossaigaon Army Camp, Dr Z R Khandakar, MO-TC, Gossaigaon TU were present in the meeting.
In his speech, Dr Kaushik Das and Suresh Kumar have stressed on the early diagnosis and treatment of TB patients. Father Thomas D’Silva proposed to setup one rehabilitation centre for TB patients in Gossaigaon from their end. Ansumwi Basumatary offered the vote of thanks.
