The Kokrajhar district administration and health department on Tuesday sought the help of various students’ organizations to dispel misconceptions regarding the Covid-19 vaccine among the public.

Leaders of various students’ organizations, community leaders, prominent citizen and officials of various line departments participated in a meeting organized jointly by the Kokrajhar district administration and health department.

The meeting focused on the Covid-19 situation in the district and the ongoing vaccination drive.

Kokrajhar additional deputy commissioner Pradip Kumar Gupta said, “Several misconceptions exist among a section of the public that the Covid-19 vaccine will lead to illness and fever.”

“I request the different students’ organizations to help us in dispelling these misconceptions and sensitizing the masses on the importance of getting themselves inoculated against the deadly virus,” Gupta said.

The ADC asked all the organizations, community leaders and leading citizens to join hands in the fight against Covid-19.

“Vaccination is the only way to protect ourselves from Covid-19. Even after getting vaccinated one should continue to strictly adhere to Covid appropriate behaviour like wearing masks, washing and sanitizing hands regularly and maintain social distancing especially in public places,” Gupta said.

The participants on their part assured all possible help and cooperation to the district administration in spreading awareness about the vaccines.
