Unable to Krishak Mukti Sangram Samiti (KMSS), along with 70 other organisations on Sunday announced that they will float a new political outfit within September.
This comes after KMSS failed to gain support from the AASU, AJYCP and newly-formed Assam Jatiya Parishad (AJP) in the formation of a common platform.
It may be mentioned here that the KMSS had earlier set September 20 as the deadline for the AASU, AJYCP and AJP to come on board to form a united regional political force.

“We are yet to get a response from AASU, AJYCP and AJP,” the KMSS leadership said while interacting with the media.
“We are optimistic that regional forces will ally for the greater interest of Assamese people before the elections,” they added.
It may be mentioned here that KMSS leader Akhil Gogoi recently said that without unification of regional forces, it would not be possible to defeat the ruling BJP.
