Bijoy Agarwal, the businessman kidnapped from Dokmoka in Assam’s Karbi Anglong was rescued in the early hours of Thursday.

He was rescued from the house of Tapan Teron, one of the prime accuse in Howraghat under Howraghat police station.

In this connection Tapan Teron (47) and his accomplice Sanjay Gowala (30) were arrested from the residence of Tapan Teron.

Earlier the police have arrested Janak Basumatary (40).

On interrogation of Basumatary the information about the kidnapped businessman was gathered.

The three were brought to Diphu for further interrogation.

At SP office, Additional SP (Head Quarter) Indranil Barua informing media persons said, “On the night of September 13, three persons riding on motorbike kidnapped Bijoy Agarwal.”

“A ransom of Rs one crore was demanded from the victim’s family members,” he added.

A case No 62/19 under section 365/323/34 of IPC has been registered against the three accused with Dokmoka police station.

The victim Bijoy Agarwal said he was taken him blind folded.

He was given food, but no communication with his family members was allowed.
