Jonai in Assam’s Dhemaji will host the 27th convention of the National Children’s Science Congress (NCSC), Dhemaji district unit in September this year.

The NCSC functionaries sat in a meeting with the functionaries of Aryabhatta Science Centre, school teachers, NGO members and civil society members of the district at Jonai HS School on Wednesday and resolved to conduct the day-long convention presentation of projects, model exhibition and student-scientist interaction.
Dhemaji inspector of schools Kabita Deka, who is the chairman of NCSC, Dhemaji district, appealed to all sections of people to extend cooperation for making the convention a grand success.

Addressing the meeting, retired principal of Dhemaji College Dr Budhin Baruah said the NCSC has been making efforts to develop scientific attitude among the growing school children and encourage them to work with innovative ideas.
He said nobody takes birth as a scientist but one can develop the instant innovative thinking through systematic analysis and observation of the facts.
Dr Baruah, who is actively involved with NSCS for more than two decades, said the science organization is planning to cover every nook and corner of the district for spreading science awareness among the growing students.
He informed the local MLAs of the district have assured for active cooperation for conducting the science convention at Jonai.
The meeting later decided to hold the convention at Jonai HS School on September 14.
A 20-member celebration committee led by Jonai Science College principal Dr Rajeswar Pegu has been constituted.
