The retired officer, identified as Bijan Das, hailed from Mangaldoi town in Assam’s Darrang district.

He killed himself at a hotel in Uttar Pradesh’s Prayagraj.
According to reports, in a four-page suicide note, 55-year-old Das held corruption during UPA regime and policies of former finance minister P Chidambaram responsible for the current economic slowdown.
Das urged the Prime Minister to look after his family, especially his son, who is reportedly an aspiring singer.
He left some money to pay the bill of the hotel located in Khuldabad area and for his cremation by the Prayagraj administration.
Das was staying at the Prayag Hotel since September 6.
However, he was not spotted coming out of his room on Sunday, raising the suspicion of the staff.
Das was reportedly found hanging from a ceiling fan.
