Guwahati: As the campaigning for the Lok Sabha elections continues, Congress leader and Nagaon MP, Pradyut Bordoloi slammed AIUDF chief Badruddin Ajmal accusing him of spreading communal hatred in minority-dominated areas.

He also termed cabinet minister Pijush Hazarika as the “mastermind of syndicate” in Assam.

Speaking to the media, Bordoloi who has been campaigning for the Nagaon Lok Sabha seat termed himself as a secular person who respects all religions and their worship places.

The MP further took a dig at AIUDF chief Badruddin Ajmal and termed him as a person with a communal mindset.

“I am not a communal person like Ajmal. You can ask Ajmal whose helicopter he has been using for the campaigning”, he told reporters.

He even lied about the helicopter, said Bordoloi adding that the chopper was given to him by Himanta Biswa Sarma along with suit case filled with money.

He further added that the “Ajmal is in close ties with Himanta Biswa Sarma”. “Ajmal has been sowing communal seeds in minority-related areas and this is a pity. Everything he does is based on orders by Himanta Biswa Sarma”, he added.

Further targeting minister Pijush Hazarika, the MP said, “He has been making baseless statements over the past few days. He should reveal names of any leaders that had shown their interests in the BJP.”
