The Women Fellowship of Believers’ Eastern Church Satgaon Mission Diocese, Lanka observed World Food Day and Global Hand Washing Day on Wednesday at SOS Children’s Village in Assam’s Hojai.
The children were made aware about the significance of hand washing, having nutritional foods and importance of physical exercise.
A seven-step brief instruction on hand washing was showcased by Sister Elish Rongfharpi to the children.
Speaking on the occasion, Father Thanghao, Diocese in charge said,”Hands are the most vital parts of our body and at the same time it is through our hands the harmful bacteria and dirt goes inside our body along with food or drink and makes us sick.”
“So, if we can habituate washing our hands properly we can save our self and our family from suffering from many possible disease,” he added.
He also asked the children to have proper nutritional food for a healthy life, without focusing on the taste of the food.
“We believe service to the mankind is the service to the God,” the Father also said.
Village director Paresh Badyakar expressed gratitude on behalf of all the children and mothers to Believers Eastern Church for organizing such significant programme at village campus.
On this occasion they distributed seven bags of rice of 25 kg and one bag dal of 30 kg to the village.
