The BJP district committees of Karbi Anglong, West Karbi Anglong and Dima Hasao of Assam thanked the people and party leadership for the victory of Horensing Bey in 3 Diphu (ST) Autonomous District Parliamentary Constituency.

Addressing a press conference at Rongnihang BJP office in Diphu, president, East Karbi Anglong District Committee, Ratan Teron said, “I thank the people for the success and victory of our candidate. The district committee thanks the people of Karbi Anglong and Dima Hasao and the rest of Assam and entire India for seeing the justice, faith, progress, development, good governance and sab ka sath sab ka vikas in us. In the past BJP candidates have stood for parliamentary elections but failed to win the people’s mandate but the workers of the party were never in despair. They keep working harder and finally saw victory.”

He thanked the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, national president Amit Shah, state president Ranjeet Dass, chief minister Sarbananda Sonowal and convenor, North East Democratic Alliance (NEDA), Himanta Biswa Sarma for the success of party candidate Horensing Bey from 3 Diphu (ST) Autonomous District Parliamentary Constituency.

Chief Executive Member (CEM), Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC) Tuliram Ronghang, said the victory of Bey is significant as he won with a huge percentage.

He said, “For change, progress and to strengthen the hand of Narendra Modi, the people of Karbi Anglong and Dima Hasao have given the mandate to BJP with the highest ever percentage of votes. I thank the people of Karbi Anglong and Dima Hasao. Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi we have seen change. The opposition and some organizations have carried out malicious propaganda against us and the people have given the answer. If we go by the percentage of votes we won by the highest margin of 61.7 per cent. It is historic.”

He also said the BJP have carried out eviction in Langkaijan where there is encroachment by illegal Bangladeshis.

On ST (H) status to Bodos living in Karbi Anglong and Dima Hasao, he said, “All the community here will get opportunity. What the Karbis get the other community will also get including the Bodos. We have nothing against the Bodos but we are opposed to according them ST (H) status and the Bodos in Karbi Anglong are not upset by it.”

The MP elect Horensing Bey also thanked the people of Karbi Anglong, West Karbi Anglong and Dima Hasao for reposing faith on him.

BJP president of West Karbi Anglong District Committee, Arun Terang, Dima Hasao District Committee president, Nipolal Hojai and others were present at the press conference.
