Assam is set to host the Rhino Autocross Challenge at the Sarusajai sports complex in Guwahati on November 10 and 11 next.
This was disclosed at a press interaction by the North Eastern Motor Sports Association in Guwahati on Monday.
The officials of the North-eastern Motor Sports Association while interacting with the media said that the qualifying rounds will be held at the Sarusajai sports complex close to the boxing ring on November 10, while the final round will be held on November 11 next.
Notably, the motto of the Rhino Autocross Challenge is save the one-horned rhino and less use of horns by motor vehicles.
Notably, the Rhino Autocross Challenge will have altogether eight events including one exclusively for women participants.
The top three winners in all the eight categories will qualify to participate at the national level event slated to be held in the month of December in Coimbatore.
The organizers further informed that apart from having this event involving the Northeast zone, the competition will also be held in four other zones across the country.
The Rhino Autocross Challenge will be held in an arena covering one kilometer.
Notably, the top three winners will go home with trophies, certificates and cash awards of Rs 10,000, Rs 7,0000 and Rs 5,000 respectively.
The organizers further stated that the last date for entries of participation is November 9 next.
Apart from host state of Assam, participants from Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Meghalaya, Manipur and Mizoram are expected to participate at the Rhino Autocross Challenge.
