The first edition of the Northeast TSD Rally will be held on the 27, 28 and 29 January. TSD, which is the name of the event stands for Time-Speed-Distance and is also known as reliability rally.

Heritage Northeast in association with Anchal and Eastern Motorsport is organizing the event. The event has been approved by The Federation of Motor Sports Clubs of India (FMSCI).

The event is an attempt at highlighting responsible driving. The rally will be flagged off from Nehru Stadium, Guwahati on 28th January. By late afternoon, the rally will reach Kaziranga National Park via Pobitora Wildlife Sanctuary. Traffic on busy roads and highways will however not be affected as the cars will mostly move through hilly terrains and villages.

To add to the surprise elements of the rally, the organizers will set up tests at random points of the route. A mesmerizing evening complete with a bonfire, cultural evening and a night stay is scheduled at Borgos Resort in Kaziranga.

The following morning a short distance rally is planned near Kaziranga National Park which will be flagged off at 7am from Borgos Resort. This will again be followed by a free run back to the resort after which the event will come to an end and prizes will be distributed.

A total of about 50 cars are expected to participate in the rally which will travel through Kamrup(M), Morigaon, Nagaon, Karbi-Anglong and Golaghat Districts. 50 percent of the route will be off the highway and only a small part of the rally will take place on the highways.

Apart from being the first of its kind TSD rally in the state, the most important factor is that the rally will cover Kaziranga National Park and Pobitora Wildlife Sanctuary, which is home to the largest population of the one-horned rhino in the state.
