Gunotsav, an initiative of the Government of Assam for evaluation in schools began in Dibrugarh on October 8 along with 15 other districts of Assam.
Gunotsav is being held in 1723 Govt, provincialized and tea garden management schools at the elementary and secondary level from October 8 to 11, covering 1,20,450 students from classes II to IX.
Taking part in Gunotsav , Dibrugarh deputy commissioner Laya Madduri visited Dibrugarh Govt Girls’ HS & MP School and took stock of the internal evaluation done by the teachers and inspected the infrastructure as well as cleanliness of the school.
She spent full day in the school with the students, teachers, and parents to evaluate the learning level of children and the academic environment maintained in the school.
After the self evaluation process which was completed on Monday, 618 out of 1723 schools in the district were externally evaluated by a total of 624 external evaluators. External evaluators from the district as well as from the neighbouring district, Tinsukia are taking part in evaluation process.
Additional Secretary of Tourism and Transport Razvee Shahdeed Hussain, DCF, attached to the CCF, R&E Circle, Diganta Borbora, Secretary, WPT & BC, Binita Pegu and DCF (Publicity), M Hussain visited various schools in the district as external evaluators.
Apart from the IFS, ACS, APS, professors from university and colleges, class –I and class- II officers, MLA Lahoal, Rituparna Baruah, MLA Naharkatia, Naren Sonowal, MLA Moran, Chakradhar Gogoi, MLA Duliajan, Teros Guala, Assam Hydrocarbon & Energy Company Limited Chairman Punakan Baruah, Assam State Housing Board Vice Chairman Subhash Dutta also took part as External Evaluators and visited schools on the second day of Gunotsav in the district today.
