Guwahati: Guwahati buzzed with eco-awareness on World Environment Day this year, thanks to a collaboration between the Green Chapter Foundation (GCF) and Sudarshan Public School, Khanapara!

The day kicked off with a tree planting session in the schoolyard – a symbolic gesture for a greener future, and a pretty awesome way to start the day. This was followed by a day jam-packed with fun and informative activities.

The school principal, Binita Devi, welcomed everyone with a warm address, and then it was over to Dr. Dilip Kakoti, a former professor from Guwahati University and a member of GCF.

He gave a talk on the super important theme for World Environment Day this year: “Land Restoration, Desertification and Drought Resilience” – basically, how taking care of our land helps fight climate change.

But the real stars of the show were the students of Sudarshan Public School! They wowed everyone with poems, plays, and skits they wrote themselves, all about protecting our environment was clear these students know their stuff about climate issues, and they’re passionate about making a difference!

There was even a Q&A session where the students could ask questions and get even more info. The day wrapped up with a thought-provoking documentary on environmental issues, reminding everyone about the importance of being eco-friendly. The whole event was a blast, and the students’ performances totally stole the show!

This collaboration between GCF and Sudarshan Public School was a success for sure, spreading awareness and inspiring the next generation to be champions for our planet!
