On the occasion of Dol Jatra/ Holi, the Assam government has declared a local holiday on March 22 within the jurisdiction of the Kamrup (Metro) district.

As per the order, all the State government offices, educational institutions within undivided Kamrup (Metro) district will remain closed on March 22 which has been declared a holiday.

The order further stated that the offices of all Assam Bhawans/Houses outside of Assam and all the financial institutions within undivided Kamrup (Metro) under section 25 of NI Act, 1881 (XXIV of 1881) read with the Government of India, Ministry of Home Affairs, will also remain closed on March 22, 2019 on account of this holiday.

Dol Jatra or Holi or Doulutsav will be celebrated in Guwahati along with various other parts of the country.
