Former president of the Bodo Sahitya Sabha (BSS), Sahitya Akademy awardee and Tagore award winner Brajendra Kr Brahma is still battling for life at Malay Hospital and Research Centre, Siliguri in West Bengal.

He is still in life support system due to intense stroke.

Brahma in his 80-plus years of age fell unconscious while he met with stroke and taken to Siliguri on September 29 last.

He has been in ICU since admission in the hospital.

Sources from hospital informed that Brahma’s health showed little improvement.

On Thursday, former Rajya Sabha MP Urkhao Gwra Brahma, advisor of the ABSU-Moneswar Daimary and president of the United Bodo People’s Organization (UBPO) Mihiniswar Basumatary along with his colleagues visited the private nursing home where Brahma is being treated in Siliguri.

The leaders met the doctor and took the note of his health scenario.

Talking to this correspondent, president of the UBPO Mihiniswar Basumatary said Dr Malay Chakrabarty who is looking after Brahma was trying to bring back his health to normal with his all out efforts.

He said Dr Malay himself was taking special care for former president of the BSS and according to doctor Brahma’s health has become a little better.

However, Basumatary quoted doctor as saying that due to age ailment his flow of blood was too slow.

He also said the chief of BTC Hagrama Mohilary was extending financial support for treatment of Brahma.
