Due to the incessant rain for the last few days, the water levels of river Kaladia and Deojara in Bajali in Barpeta district have been rising rapidly.

Moreover, in some areas water has overflown the embankments as well.

In Barkandubi area under Bajali revenue circle, large areas have been inundated after a newly repaired embankment was breached.

This is the fourth time that flood has affected the village as per the primary assessment.

Around 300 families and 1500 people with 450 domestic animals have been affected in this wave of flood, informed the circle officer Bajali revenue circle.

Flood water submerged the roads and residential areas of the locality.

The floodwater also submerged the residences and farmlands.

Flood has affected several areas like Bongaon, Panara, Koch Diga, and Tihu Dekhata.
