Five persons were killed and eight others injured when a speeding DI van with 26 persons on board rammed into a roadside tree at Nasanchali area in Udalguri.
The accident took place on Friday at around 11:30 pm under Paneri police station.

As per reports the van was a part of a wedding group and the accident took place when it was returning from the bride’s place.
The deceased has been identified as John Kullu, Moniram Boro, Jiten Boro, Gobindo Boro and Sansuma Brahma.
The injured are undergoing treatment at Mangaldoi Civil Hospital and GMCH.
