At least four houses were gutted in a massive fire that broke out at Subhash Pally locality in Dibrugarh town of Assam on Wednesday. 

Three persons sustained minor injuries and were admitted to the Assam Medical College Hospital (AMCH) for treatment.

The fire broke at the house of a person named Sudip Ghosh and later spread to adjoining three houses.  

Sudip Ghosh’s father Rakhal Chandra Ghosh, mother Usharani Ghosh and his nephew Protim Ghosh sustained minor injuries in the fire.

It is suspected that the fire broke out from dump of garbage that was set on fire for disposal. 

Fire tenders rushed to the spot to douse the fire.  

“We don’t know how the fire exactly broke out but we have learnt that it broke out from a garbage dump which was burning,” a local said. 

Dibrugarh SP Preetak Kumar Thube said, “Three persons sustained minor injuries in the fire which broke out in Subhash Pally area of Dibrugarh. Some houses were damaged in the fire but we are investigating to find out the quantum of damage”.
