The two-day convention will be held on December 16-17.

While talking to reporters, Gogoi said he decided to join the new political party after understanding the feelings and emotions of the people across Assam.

“The people of Assam want the rise of the power of regionalism.  Therefore, I have decided to join Asom Jatiya Parishad as its ideology has similarities with that of AASU,” Gogoi said.

He further said the camp of regionalism would form government at Dispur in 2021.

Gogoi said, “The people will not fear the money and physical power of the BJP this time. The people will definitely help in the formation of a government by the camp of regionalism.”
