The Kamrup-Metro district administration has ordered for dry days on December 16, 17 and 19.

The order was passed by the Kamrup-Metro district authorities keeping in view the elections to the Tiwa Autonomous Council on those days.

Dry Days will be observed in areas comprising from Khanapara Flyover to Khetri and from Panikhaiti Railway Crossing to Morigaon District Border, which falls under the Kamrup Metropolitan District Administration.

“During this period, possession, distribution, and sale of liquor will be completely prohibited. All the wholesale/bonded warehouses, IMFL Retail ‘OFF’ and ‘ON’ shops including Club ‘ON’, Hotel ‘ON’ and country spirit shops located at the above-mentioned places will remain closed,” said a statement from the Kamrup-Metro District Administration.

The Kamrup-Metro District Administration further warned that “any violation of the above will be dealt with stringent action as per law.”
