Shashikumar’s who is currently posted in the Chakpikarong forest range in Chandel district, had received an extortion note from the banned Kangkeipak Communist Party (Noyon group), a Manipur based militant group.

However, the banned group has not issued any statement claiming responsibility for the blast.

A similar blast had occurred in the Imphal East district earlier this month when miscreants exploded a grenade at a residence in Nongmeibung Wangkheilakpam Leikai.
