A bomb blast has rocked the residence of the range forest officer, Seram Shashikumar’s in Imphal East district in Manipur.
According to sources, the blast occurred at 4:15 am on Monday when miscreants threw a hand grenade at his residence.
However, no one was injured during the blast though the water pipes in the residence were damaged, a report stated.

Shashikumar’s who is currently posted in the Chakpikarong forest range in Chandel district, had received an extortion note from the banned Kangkeipak Communist Party (Noyon group), a Manipur based militant group.
However, the banned group has not issued any statement claiming responsibility for the blast.
A similar blast had occurred in the Imphal East district earlier this month when miscreants exploded a grenade at a residence in Nongmeibung Wangkheilakpam Leikai.
