The Kamrup (Metro) Deputy Commissioner has declared December 3 to December 5 as dry days for smooth conduction of Panchayat polls in the district.

Dry days have been declared from 3 pm of December 3 to 3 pm of December 5.

For the 48 hour dry day, all wholesale/bonded warehouses, bars, hotels, clubs, liquor shops shall remain closed.

The order also stated that “any violation of the order will attract penal action as per law”.

The Panchayat election in Assam will be held in two phases on December 5 and 9, 2018.

The elections will be held in two phases and the first phase of polling will be held in 16 districts. While the second phase of the polls will be held in 10 districts.

The counting of the votes is scheduled to be held on December 12.
