Police have arrested a suspected drug peddler for allegedly selling Phensedyl cough syrup from Kharupetia in Assam’s Darramg district.
Police officials said acting on a tip off, Kharupetia police launched an operation and caught drug peddler Hafijur Rahman alias Munna red handed while he was selling cough syrup in a shop in Kharupetia town.
Police also seized six sealed bottles of drugs–“Codeine Phosphate”.
A case (no 352 /2019) has been registered against Hafijur under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
