Dhubri Police has seized another big consignment of ganja in the early hours of Tuesday from a West Bengal bound Maruti Alto Car.
Two persons identified as Abul Khayer, son of one Nuru Miah and Mainuddin, son of Jashimuddin, both residents of village Durlav Narayan under Sonamora police station of Sipaijala district of Tripura have been detained along with the Maruti Alto car bearing registration number ML-05-E 5512.
The car was intercepted near at Ratiadah on National Highway 31 under Golakganj police station of Dhubri district at around 4 am in the morning of Tuesday.
According to the police, the seized contraband ganja which is about 32 kg were kept in 14 small packets concealed in the chambers created in the back seat, back side and floor of the vehicle.
The contraband are seized in presence of Chayantika Thakuria, Circle Officer of Golakganj Revenue Circle of Dhubri district as per procedure and follow up action has also being taken, police said.
The operation was carried out by Pranjal Borah, deputy superintendent of police (probation), Dhubri while executed and assisted by officer-in-charge of Golakganj, sub inspector Biswajit Bhadra, Agomoni police station in-charge sub inspector Dipak Das and Chagolia police outpost in charge sub inspector Nabajyoti Rai respectively.
On August 26 last, police had also recovered 565 kg packets of contraband ganja from an abandoned truck bearing registered No PB-11-BK 9761 from Pintakata areas under Agomoni police station of Dhubri district.
